The production and marketing of coffee in the Colombian territory is an activity that promotes economic development in some regions, which is why the hotbed of research in economic and agrofood development belonging to the group of Research on solidarity economy and economic growth takes this subject as an object of study in the city of Seville, Department of Valle del Cauca, where through a study with secondary information, data processing and review of literature measures the social and economic impact that this sector exerts; That is why fair trade is chosen as a strategy that allows through studies carried out by FairTrade labelling organizations International “FLO”; International Fair Trade Association “IFAT”; Word Fair Trade Organization “WFTO”; Network of European Worldshops “NEWS!” and European Fair Trade Association “EFTA”. The variables of study reference are: cultivated area, domestic consumption, exports, price to producers, production.
