Resumen
In Colombia, the first people who used the cooperative association were the indigenous people who cultivated in community on the same land, ignoring the individual property. After several decades the first project on cooperativism of Bejamin Herrera was known in 1916. In the decade of the 60 a great growth in this sector of the economy was evidenced, as they reached to exist 2,347 cooperative with 1'620,000 associates, but in the decade of the 90 had a great crisis, the cooperatives of associated work were harmed thanks to the regulation in which they were empty and this so that they faced with the companies of temporary services, today exist in Colombia 187 cooperatives and 3'327.185 associates, Despite its almost obsolete regulations, the third sector of the economy continues to grow.
