Feline Viral Leukemia (FeLV) is a contagious disease caused by a retrovirus, which mainly affects domestic felines of street habits is incorporated into the genetic material of the cell, making it very difficult to treat; Its main route of infection is through contact with the saliva of an infected animal, clinically producing a depletion of the immune system and some had development of neoplasms, including other diseases derived from FeLV liver diseases, anemia, leukopenia, opportunistic infections or abortions. The objective of the research was to determine the presence of feline viral leukemia in domestic cats that attended consultation at La Sabana Veterinary Clinic. We randomly sampled 50 cats of different ages regardless of breed or sex, were subjected to a clinical examination and blood sample was taken in order to evaluate the clinical picture related to the presence of Feline Viral Leukemia by means of a table hematic, glycemic examination and its correlation with a commercial test that detects Leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency. It was found that the felines presented signs and symptoms such as (fever, paleness of mucous membranes, jaundice, loss of appetite, weight loss); where the present study allowed to determine the existence of Feline Viral Leukemia in cats of the municipality of Saravena, Arauca; with a prevalence of 23 felines positive for FeLV and 12 felines positive for FIV Ab / FeLV Ag. On the other hand, 15 of the cats presented normal results in the hematological evaluation, but it should be noted that they presented injuries or wounds to the body, possibly from street fights.
