Introduction: During the last decades, non-transmissible chronic diseases have become a priority public health problem, both in developed and developing countries, where hypertension is one of the most significant diseases that leads to multiple complications, Which is highly worrisome since it triggers other diseases that are even more risky and can increase the mortality rate, for them the importance of exercising adequate control with their follow-up for treatment and timely care. Objective: To identify the factors that influence the absence and abandonment of the hypertension control program in a health post in Santa Marta. Methodology: This is a field investigation of cross descriptive quantitative approach where through a telephone interview with the 103 enrolled in the program HBP patients a questionnaire that was evaluated by experts at which to identify factors associated arises the absence hypertension program at a health center in the city of Santa Marta. The data analysis was performed using Excel spreadsheet showing descriptive statistics, where the total population was 103 and a sample of 24 patients with acceptance criteria to participate in the study (localization). Results: Once this tab is denoted that the lack of assistance program tool in the Health Post is moving the same and patients do not have the information necessary to know where to go to continue the control her illness. The highest rate of insistence about sex can notice that you have greater number of nonattendance women compared with men. Conclusions: Once the study is completed, the results of which factors are associated with non-attendance control of hypertension in a health center of Santa Marta are aimed at the health post has been removed, so the patient does not have followed with the respective human care of their disease which can lead to certain complications in his health.
