Infections Associated with Health Care (IAAS) are presented in both developed and developing nations; Each day, approximately 1.4 million patients acquire an IAAS. In the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 1.7 million of these infections contribute to the occurrence of 99,000 deaths each year. The highest morbidities occur among patients hospitalized in Intensive Care Units. Pneumonia and bloodstream infections have the highest number of deaths associated with IAAS. In Colombia, in the absence of national information that allows a better approach to this problem and generate actions for its containment. Since 2012 through circular 045 of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. The implementation of the surveillance of the IAAS in the country began, giving priority to the monitoring of infections associated with devices. For this research, a descriptive study was designed to determine the incidence of infections associated with health care in users of ICUs in a clinic in Valledupar, 2017. In 2017 at the clinic in Valledupar entered 16,308 patients of which 1,774 entered the different ICUs corresponding to 10.88% of hospitalized patients and users admitted to ICUs 43 are patients who have infection related to the use of devices in Health, which represents 2.43%, which are the users of our object of study.
