Resumen
The aim of this research work was to diagnose the main difficulties that the students of the engineering faculty of the Technological School Central have in terms of written communication capacity, reading and preparation of scientific works. The research methodology was both quantitative. For the quantitative evaluation, a survey with closed questions was applied, which provided us with the possibility of developing a descriptive analysis of the data obtained. As a result of the analysis of the results, it was identified that for the group under study the communicative difficulties of the students are related to the lack of motivation towards reading documents outside of the activities directly related to the subjects studied, it must be In this regard, the evaluated population studies at night and work day, which implies a greater effort to devote more hours of study compared to students of day and conventional schedules. Similarly, students’ express difficulties in the writing process as it is easier and more natural to express themselves through numerical results, given the relationship of engineering with exact sciences such as mathematics, physics, among others, which can be correlated with the little reading habit that they also manifested. Situation by which, this research encourages us to develop later stages of it, where academic proposals are generated that mitigate the diagnosed situations, in such a way that spaces are generated within the academy that encourage and develop activities related to reading and critical writing, in such a way as to encourage the publication of research works, the strengthening of research groups and, in turn, the development of literacy skills among students and future professionals of the Technical Central technological school.
