Introduction: The research Welfare, social support and academic performance in new university students has the ability to allow them to adjust strategies to prevent school dropout and promote the quality of student life. Objective: To study the relationship between academic performance, social support and subjective well-being in the new entry of technical and administrative careers of the Santa Marta UCC. Methodology: This is a longitudinal, descriptive, correlational study. The sample was of 63 students of first and second semester of the careers of Law, Accounting and Business Administration, of the Cooperative University of Colombia, Santa Marta. The instruments used were: Social Support Questionnaire MOS of Sherbourne & Stewart, the Flowering Scale of Diennet et al. and the Positive and Negative Affect Scale (SPANE) by Diener et al. To assess academic performance, the averages were obtained during the period 2017-II. Results: The level of wellbeing flourishing and of average social support, and positive affectivity predominated. A significant and positive correlation was found between flowering, positive affectivity and social support. There is no relationship between these variables and the academic average: Conclusions / Recommendations: Social support is important for well-being. No relationship of these variables with performance has been found, it has been recommended in studies with larger and more diversified samples.
