Introduction: Parenting practices are those activities that each individual has with actions and behaviors, to carry out the good upbringing of the child. With regard to the feeding of children, it has also been indicated that it is influenced in one way or another by psychosocial, environmental and cultural factors. General Objective: Analyze child-rearing practices, socio-cultural factors and the nutrition of children and adolescents with malnutrition. Specific Objectives: 1) Identify the parenting practices reported by the caregivers of the children and adolescents that make up the sample. 2) Detail the sociocultural factors of the sample. 3) Specify aspects about the feeding of the children and adolescents who participated in the study. Methodology: The present investigation is of a quantitative, descriptive and transversal type. The sample consisted of 54 caregivers. The applied instrument was a structured interview. Results: the father figures have a child-rearing practice of mutual agreement for the child, but the one who exercises and takes care of the child is the mother, they are the ones who are most of the time, take care of them, listen to them and respect their opinion, always looking for the welfare of the child. On the sociocultural factors most of the father figures have incomplete baccalaureate, l are engaged in domestic chores, most live in the Luis R Calvo neighborhood and are from stratum 1, in addition and many have suffered intrafamily violence. Conclusions: the paternal figures have knowledge about the advantages of the good feeding of their children but the lack of food makes that the expectations are not fulfilled.
