Resumen
The general objective of the research was to determine the circumstances that lead the psychology students of the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia to commit academic fraud and establish their possible relationship with feelings of guilt and the career plan. For this, a mixed design was used, which includes qualitative and quantitative aspects of the phenomena of inquiry, so two types of strategies were used, the application of a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. The epistemic bases that sustain the psychological look of the phenomena are the social-cognitive model of Albert Bandura, as well as the paradigm of complexity, whose principles served as a basis for the analysis of the results obtained. It was found that psychology students resort to fraud as a mechanism to pass subjects and assessments without them believing that it affects their career plan. In the same way it was evidenced, that they have clearly defined psychology as their career plan for their personal formation. On the other hand, it was found that the feeling of guilt if it appears in those students who make low use of fraud, however, does not generate modification in the decision to optionally use fraud to solve an academic situation
