Resumen
The Free Trade Agreement with South Korea was signed in February 2013, which after entering into force has had a significant impact in the economy of the two countries. In this paper, we make a brief analysis and description of the different inconveniences that have occurred in the period from 2013 to 2018 in the implementation of the agreement as well as its impact on the automobile sector. We should take into account that only 15% of Colombian exports are destined to Asia, and that South Korea is a net importer (the eighth in the world), Colombia is only its seventh supplier in Latin America. Although it has a very strong industrial development in fields such as automotive, household appliances and technology in general, South Korea has great shortcomings in the supply of raw materials and in several sectors, its industrialization is lower than the Colombian one. These factors make the Asian country an attractive and potential client of several productive sectors in Colombia. To analyze this issue this research opts for qualitative methodology in which the text of the agreement will be analyzed and the most important literature regarding the advantages and disadvantages of signing the agreement will be reviewed.
