This research work aims to detail some features of ICT and how it can somehow generate competitive advantages between different companies in Colombia, based in the first instance on the theory of competitive advantages of different authors, business articles and primarily in Michael Porter. There will be a brief introduction of the situation of Colombian companies in the current market, the problems and problems that affect them. Explain the tools that ICT offers as a generator of competitive advantages. The objetives established in the research were: Determine the current situation of ICT in Colombia, Identify the types of ICT technology that are currently being used in organizations and finally ICT technologies as a tool to generate competitive advantage and recognition. The type of methodology used was the documentary research with a non-experimental and transactional research design, and the technique used to collect the information are the bibliographic records. As a result of the results and analysis of this research, it was generally concluded that Colombia enjoys great opportunities with respect to the implementation of ICT, therefore, it can establish a dynamic, competitive and international market.
