Resumen
In the city of Santa Marta, Magdalena are presented over the years environmental problems that put at risk the lives of people and the state of the structures that make up the urban perimeter and the rural area of that city; Forest, structural and plant cover fires occur for various reasons, either by the intervention of man accidentally or not, or for natural causes generated by high temperatures. Due to this, it is important the data collection, manipulation of information and the analysis of hypothesis that the city handles with respect to the fires that appear, time of year, intensity and frequency in its history and how common they are over the years. We must emphasize that the information compiled in this report is from 2018 between the months of April and September, with which we rely on to carry out the research. Thanks to all these statistical data we can start a fire monitoring system and thus intervene as soon as possible to avoid its extension and greater effect on society. What is sought in this research project is to carry out a monitoring and early warning system for forest, structural and vegetative fires in the city of Santa Marta. The forest, structural and vegetal cover fires were studied in the urban area and rural area of the city of Santa Marta in the hottest time of the year in this city that are between the months of April and September of 2018, We study in what areas they occur most frequently and with what intensity, at what time of day is most common, among other data. In the present project we only have a camera to mount the monitoring and early warning system, for which we must select a site where this device can be used. We made a decision based on two important points of this investigation, the first is the scope and characteristics of the camera when it comes to monitoring in the area and the second is statistical data of how frequent are fires in this sector and how many occur near it that can also be monitored by the criteria mentioned above, We conclude that the Ziruma sector is the area where fires occur most in the city throughout the year, also because of its geographical location, the camera has a scope to monitor a certain proportion of commune 2 (downtown sector) of the city and commune 7 (sector El Rodadero). The camera with the lowest denomination of the system has a range of 840 meters around, to increase said denomination, increases its scope and therefore its monitoring distance.
