Resumen
This research aims to know which are the attitudes and perceptions of primary school teachers towards the inclusion process in a school in Barrancabermeja. First of all, a literature review was carried out. It was found out that in Colombia there is scarce information about the topic, therefore it became a motivational factor to keep on the research project. As the main objective, it was set to characterize the attitude and the perception of primary school teachers towards the inclusion process of children and teenagers with special educational needs. The specific objectives are: to identify the teachers’ attitude and to describe the perception they have about Inclusion. In order to achieve the goals, a descriptive design with a mixed approach was applied. The instruments used are: semi structured interview, socio-demographic survey and the questionnaire of teachers’ perceptions about Inclusion. After the application of the instruments, it was necessary to carry out a process of direct observation to teachers in their classroom in order to review directly the aspects related to attitude. All this process allowed having enough input to present the results, analysis and identify that teachers ignore definitions, theories and teaching strategies in the Inclusion process. This can affect the interest on developing new pedagogical strategies and contribute, from their teaching practices, to a true Inclusion process that benefits the population with any special educational need.
