Resumen
The Colombian livestock as other regions of the world, a problematic situation with the breeding females of bovine milk, veterinarians with great concern have found the proliferation of cystic ovaries, such as: follicular cysts and luteinizing. The diseases found in the ovarian cyst diagnosis process indicate that reproductive rates have decreased the fertility of dairy cows, causing an economic imbalance in milk production, and even more, have increased the costs of veterinary medical services to control this phenomenon. Most cows show intense and prolonged estral behavior as nymphomania due to the absence of a corpus luteum (CL); Because of the detection of follicular and luteinizing cysts, the walls of the follicular cyst are thin, filled with liquids, with ovarian structures greater than or less than 25 mm in diameter. Alterations in the hypothalamic-pituitary and gonadal axis affect the formation of these ovarian cysts in cows; Low concentrations of luteinizing hormone (LH) or in the release of gonadotropin factor (Gnrh) is related to adrenal hypofunction, uterine infection and other postpartum diseases. An adequate diagnosis is indispensable, such as ultrasonography, which is a very advanced method in technology and which is being used in livestock breeding in the region. It is important that ovarian cysts are evidenced by transrectal ultrasound in cattle that are evidenced as structures Anechogenic usually larger than 2cm in diameter, thin echogenic walls; multiple follicular cysts or simple follicular cyst, remaining in the ovary for more than 10 days. This can be observed clinically by repetition of jealousy, nymphomania and anestrus. Include methods such as manual removal or enucleation, the use of progestogens, gonadotropin releasing factors, prostaglandins hcG (LH)
