Resumen
In order to obtain economic yields, poultry production systems are subjected to different practices that significantly decrease animal welfare and consequently generate changes in different physiological indicators such as behavior, Heterophilic / Lymphocyte ratio (H/L ratio) and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) among others. Various publications have shown that supplementation with humic substances (HS) has positive effects on animal feeding at different physiological stages. In this work, 117 Hy Line hens were submitted in the final stage of the first productive cycle and during the prolonged fasting time that the seedlings generated. The birds were distributed in 3 groups for which group 1 (T0) was the control group, group 2 (T1) was supplemented with 0.2g HS and group 3 (T2) supplemented with 2g HS, to evaluate the H/L ratio and HRV on days 0 and 12 of the experiment. The H/L ratio was performed by blood smear staining and the HRV was identified using HRV software. Both variables were subjected to a multiple comparison analysis with a p <0.05 below which the null hypothesis was rejected. The data of the H/L ratio and HRV showed that at the end of the long fast there is a sympathovagal imbalance and blood cell distribution as a consequence of nutritional stress, however, supplementation with 0.2g or 2g HS does not generates significant changes (p> 0.05) between the experimental groups.
