Resumen
In dogs, diseases of infectious origin that affect the skin are a wide group of alterations in which epidermis, the dermis and hypodermis can be involved, with different clinical pictures, evolution; As etiological agents are involved bacteria, fungi, viruses, parasites and protozoans among others. There are different factors that predispose a dog to develop an infectious dermatopathy such as: humidity, temperature, nutrition, age, concomitant dermatological conditions, immunosuppression, poor hygiene and overcrowding, such as day care centers and adoption centers have a growing demand among pet owners, especially dogs (Matos et al 2012). Cutaneous diseases are a common reason for consulting veterinary clinics around the world; In Colombia, studies such as that carried out by Henao et al (2010) in Medellín, Antioquia found that of 1323 patients between 2004 and 2009, 82.3% of the visits to the Veterinary and Zootechny Center of the CES University were canine, 28.22 Almansa et al (2007) found that of 162,000 records of a veterinary clinic in the city of Bogotá between 1994 and 2004, 72,248 were dogs, of which 24.5% of the consultations were diseases of skin and teguments of dogs. By means of this systematic review of literature on some dermatopathies in dogs, we intend to update the information and improve the capacity to make decisions about the patients allowing to improve the clinical approach and the diagnostic process of the dermatological diseases in dogs (anamnesis, clinical exploration, diagnosis and complementary tests).
