Resumen
: Anaplasma is a gram-negative, obligate intracellular bacterium of the Rickettsial order, with a worldwide distribution with the highest incidence in tropical, subtropical and temperate zones, which in turn affects various species, among which are ruminants and canids, characterized in parasing erythrocytes mature bovine cattle originating anemias that cause economic losses. Animals that managed to recover from the acute phase of anaplasmosis will remain persistently resistant and will be defined in a reservoir for transmission from these healthy animals. This study reports the case of a Black-eared White (BON) female bovine, 1 day old, weighing 24 kilos, located in the district of Totumo in Ibagué-Tolima with a temperature of 24°C. reason for consultation is the presence of weakness, loss of appetite, decay on the part of the animal. When performing the physical examination and the clinical examination, tachypnea, tachycardia, hepatomegaly, dehydration, hyperthermia 39.8°C, recumbent position and icteric mucous membranes are evidenced. Given this clinical picture, it is decided to take complementary laboratory tests to reach a diagnosis. The smear of venous and peripheral blood with Wright's stain was the test that allowed observing the number and shape of the blood cells, where intraerythrocyte inclusions compatible with Anaplasma sp. abundant per field microscopically, it was the test that allowed us to observe a large number of erythrocytes parasitized with Anaplasma sp., a way of intraerythrocyte inclusion typical of these rickettsiae. This confirms the diagnosis to later carry out a treatment with a successful result.
