This article aims to analyze the impact of employability in the service sector, specifically in the hotel and travel agency subsectors from competitiveness; under the premise that this element becomes an essential point for the development of the strategic planning of companies, since it is the ability to obtain a competitive advantage which translates into the generation of profitability; and how, in an articulated way, employment points towards this objective. The methodology used corresponded to a descriptive investigation through the application of a characterization instrument, the statistical technical analysis of variance was also used. Some of the results indicate that the microenterprise is the trend in the legal form which are managed by people of a natural nature, in turn there is a tendency for the organizations studied to hire interns and interns. It is concluded that development plans are necessary in hotels and travel agencies aligned with programs of the mayors and the department’s government to increase the impact on employability.
