Resumen
Since the Agustinian University began to function, an analog telephony was implemented that worked very well, but with the passing of time and with the growth of its administrative staff, this technology became obsolete and began to delay administrative processes. For this reason, the following report proposes redesigning the institution's IP telephony network and in this way being able to give a clearer picture to the University of the need to migrate to IP telephony and have a more accurate management of communications. internal and external. The institution had several points in favor for the redesign, since in almost all its facilities the vast majority had data points, this facilitated the implementation of the IP telephony network; It is important to point out that the technological resources are sufficient for the start-up since they have Dell brand servers with a hypervisor, where a virtual machine could be installed as a server to host the administration application; In addition, they have several data centers, all with fiber optic connection to the main core switch. According to history, in the 1990s IP telephony began to appear as a technology that would facilitate communication between people, and by the new century the first telephone exchange, based on Linux code, began to be seen. Therefore, being able to use an IP telephone exchange has several advantages, especially in the maintenance of its operation, this maintenance has very low costs and it is very easy to integrate with other technologies. Initially, an information survey was carried out on some connection schemes of the current (analog) telephony, an evaluation of the current technological infrastructure was carried out and the creation of a VLAN for IP telephony in its main core switch was proposed. The only cost assumed by the University was the purchase of the IP telephones, since the current plant is Panasonic and does not work with other brands. This redesign and start-up of IP telephony for the Agustiniana University, brought a significant improvement in the administration of the telephone exchange, it could be integrated with a CRM to improve the attention to the users and costs were reduced in the maintenance of the operation of Telephony at the University.
