Neonatal sepsis has a particular classification, one is early-onset and the other is classified as late-onset, which generally depends on age and the time when symptoms appear. The fundamental objective of this research is to identify adherence to neonatal care protocols with risk of late sepsis in a neonatal intensive care unit in Villavicencio Meta; specifying in the characterization of the activities carried out by the study population that are contributors to the appearance of neonatal sepsis, as well as identifying the knowledge and implementation of the protocols for the adequate management and care of the newborn at risk of sepsis and recognizing this forms the source of the appearance of late sepsis in neonates and stipulate its possible circumstances. This study is of an observational qualitative-analytical nature, which was applied to the care staff of the neonatal intensive care unit, it was made up of 100% of the care staff, both nursing professionals and technicians, with inclusion criteria that were the staff of professional and auxiliary nursing who work in a neonatal intensive care unit.
