Music therapy is a tool used in different therapeutic processes and especially in psychology where results are shown to improve the quality of life of patients, the management of emotions in order to find the meaning of life, in this systematic review of the Literature will expand the concept of what music therapy is, its beginnings and its structure within a psychological treatment, to affirm the benefits that this tool has in patients with oncological diagnosis in terminal phase and mental health; Taking into account the information found, it is expected that the reader of this work knows the scope and results obtained by executing the different music therapy sessions in this type of patients, their benefits and their achievements, to improve their quality of life. In this review it is decided to investigate the technique of music therapy, in the cases of patients with oncological diagnoses, where it has been implemented as an alternative in the therapeutic process to improve quality of life, emotional state, awareness and resignification of meaning of life, when confronting the disease, through activities that facilitate the expression of emotions and fears or uncertainties at the time of being diagnosed with an oncological disease, which on some occasions may or may not be terminal.
