Resumen
The Colombian armed conflict is a scourge that for more than 60 years has caused barbarism and terror, especially to the civilian population of the country. Homicides, massacres, forced disappearance, kidnapping, extortion, rapes, among others, are part of the criminal actions of the different armed actors that for decades have violated the integrity, security and tranquility of the Colombian people. Barrancabermeja has not been immune to this situation, taking into account that different armed groups have committed crimes in the oil port, especially in the decades of the 80'S and 90'S, when the streets of the beautiful daughter of the sun dressed in horror under the raffles of shrapnel and loud explosions, which brought with them innumerable human and material losses. On May 16, 1998, a command of armed men broke into the tranquility of the 7th district of Barrancabermeja, leaving 7 murdered people in their wake and taking 25 more people with them. This fact was classified by different institutions and organizations as one of the worst massacres in history. The general purpose of this study is to learn about the progress made in terms of comprehensive reparation since Law 1448 of 2011 has been given to the families of the victims of said massacre. This research is qualitative of a descriptive nature and for its development the information from the May 16 collective, Law 1448 of 2011, Victims Unit and bibliographic analysis was taken as a reference. The results of the investigation indicate that Law 1448 of 2011 has not been effective within the process of reparation of the victims of the massacre of May 16, 1998 in Barrancabermeja, to date, the families have not been recognized as victims of this fact, therefore, they have not been repaired.
