OBJECTIVE: To determine the effectiveness of the musician-therapy, in the diminution of the anxiety of the patients submissive simple exodoncia in the Faculty of Odontolgy of the Cooperative University of Colombia by means of the use of tensiometro digital. METHODS: Controlled clinical test, randomized with group control without intervention. Where 62 patients between 21 and 72 years of age participated that required simple exodoncia and fulfilled the inclusion criteria. These were assigned randomly in two groups (with music and without music). I am used tensiometro digital to monitorear the changes in the frequency cardiac and arterial pressure in five takings (before the procedure, anesthesia, luxación, suture, procedure conclusion). RESULTS: The groups with music present/display a diminution in the systolic pressure in it takings of the anesthesia, luxación and suture, compared with the group without music; nevertheless it was not statistically significant. The diastolica pressure and the frequency cardiac were similar in both groups. CONCLUSION: The musician-therapy is not an effective method to diminish the anxiety in patient’s submissive simple exodoncia; nevertheless the patients of the group with music, they showed comfort during the odontológica intervention.
