Resumen
The coronavirus is associated with a wide variety of diseases of man and animal species, within these, SARS CoV-2 is responsible for the current COVID-19 pandemic and the FCoV that causes feline infectious peritonitis (FCoV). Both strains cause multiple pathologies in both cats and humans. Its diagnosis is difficult in felines when their clinical signs are nonspecific and in humans when the disease is asymptomatic. Coronaviruses affect all species at all stages of life with a greater affinity for males including humans. The pathologies they cause, respectively, are generally transmitted, due to overcrowding in felines and lack of biosecurity protocols in humans. Both viruses present a high degree of mutation and in both there is a great compromise of the immune system. The objective of this review is to look for similarities and differences between FCoV and SARS-CoV-2.
