Resumen
Academic perception and motivation are two fundamental variables in education, the first covers the interpretation that the student has about the teaching-learning process and the second refers to the state that keeps the student constant and immersed in the acquisition of knowledge; Due to the pandemic and the implementation of virtual education, it is important to take into account these variables due to the positive or negative influence they may have on the fulfillment of goals and skills necessary for the professional objective. For this reason, the main objective is to determine the academic motivation and perception that students of the Cooperativa de Colombia University Arauca headquarters have on virtual education through a focus group session and semi-structured interview, thus knowing the secondary effects in times of pandemic. For this, a qualitative approach with phenomenological design is used, where we worked with two students from each academic program who were willing to participate; for a total of ten students in the sample. The results showed that the perception of the students was closely linked to states of sadness, anxiety and stress, emotions and feelings expressed by the participants; In addition, the way that teachers teach classes from virtuality, since many of them expressed that it was the teachers who motivated them to stay in class and deliver work due to the flexibility in the schedules; In addition to this, 90% of the participants faced difficulties in the economic, psychological, family and environmental factors
