Resumen
This systematic review will discuss the topic of emotional labor, specifically what is found in the literature on emotional labor in health personnel. Results on the implications of emotional labor in the life of health professionals, the role of emotional labor in the work environment and different intervention proposals found in the literature will be shown. To fulfill this purpose, a literature review of 45 articles retrieved from scientific databases such as Redalyc, Pubmed, Sciencedirect and Scopus was carried out in which we searched for scientific articles covering the topic of emotional labor in nurses and health personnel, which are articles no more than fifteen years old in English and Spanish. Through this review we want to investigate what is evidenced in the literature on emotional labor in health personnel, due to the fact that although it is recognized that emotional demands can be a stress-generating factor in certain occupations, as is the case of health professionals, usually these aspects are overlooked; nurses are one of the population most exposed to this type of problematic and increasingly the role of emotional demands in the origin of occupational stress is being taken into account (Badolamenti, Biagioli, Zaghini et al., 2018).
