Resumen
This document has as an objective to analyze the prevalent factors and characteristics of Burnout syndrome in healthcare personnel within the health area through a bibliographic review identifying prevalent factors and characteristics of Burnout syndrome in healthcare personnel. Methodologically, this research was carried out through a systematic and documentary review, where 55 research articles were analyzed, of which 12 were carried out nationally (Colombia) and 43 articles were international researches (Mexico, Peru, Spain, Cuba, Chile, Ecuador, Brazil, Jordan and Venezuela). It is determined that the factors with the highest prevalence in the suffering of the syndrome are delimited by the area and specialty in which the professional works, as well as the assigned sex (Man, Woman) and the personal and family context of the employee, like: marital status or having children (this in order to exemplify). Similarly, the most prevalent characteristics in this syndrome in healthcare personnel are emotional exhaustion and depersonalization, leading professionals to expose symptoms and manifestations of a psychosomatic nature (sleep disorders, gastric disorders, muscular tensions), behavioral (absences from work), emotional (irritability, emotional distancing) and work (hostile treatment, decrease in their work capacity).
