According to the World Health Organization (OMS), Covid-19 is a disease caused by a new virus that affects people, causing respiratory infection, it can present with a picture similar to a common cold to an acute respiratory syndrome (OMS, 2020). In the department of Santander the situation is no different, currently as of May 2021, the indicators are alarming, showing 100% occupancy in the hospital infrastructure and the contagion figure that documents an average of 1200 confirmed cases per day, with a total of 126,542 confirmed as of May 24, 2021 (National Institute of Health, 2021). Therefore, the primary objective was to determine the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of individuals suspected of Covid-19 in the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga, during the first semester of the pandemic. Results This instrument was applied in order to determine the symptoms of 235 subjects and their relationship with Covid-19 in the city of Bucaramanga through a virtual survey that included sociodemographic variables, signs / symptoms and behaviors, according to their consent. Conclusion of the population evaluated, the majority corresponded to young female adults, predominantly from socioeconomic strata 2 and 3, being located in one of the most active and economically productive populations. Likewise, most of the participants did not present typical symptoms and those who presented symptoms the most frequent were malaise and headache.
