Resumen
This research project aims to meet the needs of internet access in the community of Barrio Altos de Aeromar, located beyond the Simon Bolivar International Airport which is 16.5 km from the historic center of the city of Santa Marta (Magdalena), due to its geographical location isolated from the municipal urban sector, such population does not have an efficient supply of internet, landed conclusion, under the methodology of qualitative study of descriptive non-experimental type, which used as techniques for collecting information, observation and informal interview, therefore; the importance and innovation of our project lies in managing high speed internet access, through the use of optical fiber, selected as a means of transmission for all the qualities it presents, such as its excellent bandwidth, its low signal losses, total immunity to electromagnetic interference and for reaching transmission speeds of up to 1 Tbps in voice, data and video, notably improving its quality. For all these reasons, the use of optical fiber is considered ideal for transmission media such as twisted pair or coaxial cable. Optical fiber is a flexible fiber, which allows the transmission of digital data in the form of light pulses, which travel through glass and plastic wires. While wireless networks also called wifi networks use radio waves to connect all kinds of devices, without the need to use any physical cable.
