Resumen
In the cooperative university of Colombia, exactly in the systems engineering program, the objective is that the student of the program can possess skills for the analysis, design, development and execution of solutions based on information and communication technologies, which that makes a graduate capable of making digital and innovative contributions to society. Based on the current situation of society from a technological and social point of view and taking into account people with hearing disabilities, their situation becomes an important reference for the development of support technology trends, aimed at a society with equal opportunities, based on social and technological aspects. However, the social barrier to inclusion becomes evident, creating obstacles that prevent effective communication for the development of society, inequality and exclusion on the part of hearing people as they have no interest in learning their most recurrent form of communication - language sign. For this reason, a technological tool is proposed as an application that, through Matlab software, can be developed and as a result, translate the sign language in support of the progressive inclusion of people with hearing disabilities. As a consequence of the development of the first phase of the application, TRAVID consisting of the five vowels (A, E, I, O, U), an implementation of the second phase is made with the most frequent consonants of the Colombian alphabet (S, R , N, D, L, C, T, M, P, B).
