Resumen
The term slope refers to the slope that the face of a wall or surface presents. In engineering it refers to an inclined surface with respect to the horizontal, either temporarily or permanently. Normally they are structures composed of the same soil, rock, reinforced concrete or other material that can contain the pressure caused by its weight. The slope located in Barrio Venecia, in commune 12, south of the city of Ibagué, was evaluated at coordinates 4 ° 26'04.2 "N -75 ° 14'45.1" W, which presents some geotechnical problems , which involve aspects related to the design and construction of artificial slopes, due to the fact that various geological, hydrological, geomorphological and anthropic factors are found at the site, among others, that affect stability. Therefore and with a view to determining the risk that this slope represents for the physical infrastructure present in the place, a qualitative stability analysis was carried out, which will support a subsequent deterministic analysis commonly used in geotechnical engineering; allowing to determine the safety factor and that despite having a great uncertainty due to the variables it considers (cohesion, fictional angle, seismicity, phreatic levels, geological characteristics, among others), they provide a very good approximation to the stability conditions of the slope. In this work, a field survey was initially carried out, achieving a morphological characterization of the slope, later a topographic survey was carried out and different samples were taken that allowed the execution of different laboratory tests in order to determine the mechanical properties of the soil. . Finally, the threat assessment was determined from a quantitative analysis with the help of the Slide software, which made it possible to determine the safety factor, a fundamental parameter in risk assessment.
