The document describes one of the main economic problems reflected by the pandemic in people given the economic instability that has been seen worldwide and therefore in the country, where companies by losing or reducing their income have had to make decisions affecting the job security of your human resource. Its purpose is to analyze the relationship of COVID-19 and formal employment in Colombia, for which it is proposed to develop as specific objectives, to explain the effects caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in relation to the labor supply in Colombia; Detail the measures that the Colombian government has taken to protect workers during the COVID-19 period; Analyze the employability behavior in Colombia during the years 2019 vs 2020 in relation to the impact of COVID-19. The present research "Effects caused by COVID-19 on employment rates in Colombia" was carried out under the descriptive analytical methodology of a documentary type with a qualitative approach. The purpose of this article is to describe the economic impacts, reflected in employment, government measures and the behavior of previous years, the instruments and the sample proposed for this research will be developed through comparisons and research of other documents, where The result of the objectives is shown as an end, which in this case is linked to unemployment in Colombia by Covid-19. All the information provided frames events that marked this pandemic, in order to provide the reader with exact information on the possible consequences, but also opens a window of time to invest in the promotion of self-care among citizens and the preparation of health infrastructure. However, the quarantine could not be maintained until the eventual creation of a vaccine, as the government would not have the means to sustain the economy for so long. In the economic problem linked by unemployment, the government must implement measures that allow reducing informality in employment and thus improve the quality of life of workers. In terms of employment share, according to objective 3, services concentrated 64% in the high digital intensity level19 and 5% in the medium-high level in 2019, a concentration that changes in 2020, since 66% are in high level and 3%, medium-high20. On the side of employer companies in 2019 and 2020, 56% are concentrated in the high level and 5%, medium-low.
