Quality management systems are established in organizations with the aim of achieving high levels of customer satisfaction, increasing utility, efficiency and prestige in the sector. This work shows the methodology for the documentation of a quality management system based on the requirements of the ISO 9001: 2008 Standard for the company Lácteos del Castillo JP S.A.S, dedicated to the production of Double Cream Cheese in the department of Huila. For the execution of this work, the need for the company to have a documentary base was taken into account that would guide the meaning of the actions within it and allow an improvement in the organizational structure from the point of view of quality. The relationship with the requirements demanded by the standard and the existing documentation in the company was also taken into account. A diagnosis was made where the level of compliance with the requirements contemplated in the standard was assessed and according to the analysis, the necessary documentation was developed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the quality management system. As a result, it is possible to obtain a quality plan appropriate to the needs of the organization based on the Colombian Technical Standard ISO 9001: 2008.
