Resumen
The general objective is to analyze the public policies that serve to mitigate organized crime in Colombia. Due to the nature of the problem, a qualitative methodology is used, from a descriptive and explanatory research level, corresponding to documentary-type studies. Likewise, organized crime is not classified as an autonomous criminal type, there is no restrictive norm that fully defines and sanctions organized criminal structures as defined in international instruments and that, having ratified these instruments, Colombia has had to adapt the regulations since their ratification. internal. The concepts of national security and defense are valid under the paradigm of the modern State, and especially in the context of the post-cold war period. A public policy that encompasses these State issues must "continuously transform and modernize the Defense Sector, as well as improve education, well-being, morals and legal security, financial, budgetary and contractual management of the Public Force" (Ministry of Defense, 2016).
