Resumen
The present study aimed to characterize and evaluate the bridges located on Calle 80 with Carrera 5ª, and Calle 19 with Carrera 5, located in Communes 1 and 5 of the municipality of Ibagué, Tolima, in order to find out the pathologies that present structures and provide possible rehabilitation mechanisms for them. For this, a brief characterization of the different classes of bridges was carried out, taking up the approaches of Quintana (2009), Minaya (2010), Torres (2013), Cabrera (2013), Cárdenas (2016) and CACISA (2017). Then, the methodology, whose approach is quantitative, quasi-experimental and descriptive in scope, had as its main method the visual inspection worked from the points of view of LanammeUCR (2015) and the Manual of Visual Inspection of Bridges and Pontoons of INVIAS (2006) . Among the main conclusions there is the observation of some pathologies such as: concrete wear, exposed iron, cracks, paint corrosion, deterioration in expansion joints, asphalt damage, obstruction and breakdown of drains. It was identified that the greatest impact on bridge structures is humidity, due to the fact that drains are easily plugged. It concludes with the following rehabilitation techniques: for the vehicular bridge of Carrera 5ta with Calle 19, general cleaning and washing every six months, cleaning and maintenance of drains, supports and road, maintenance of the asphalt layer, cleaning, painting is suggested. and reinforcements to the safety railings of the bridge and the installation of horizontal signaling or demarcation of the pavement; and for the vehicular bridge of Carrera 5ta with Calle 83, the same as the previous bridge, increasing the crack, since the width of the cracks is evaluated, and since it is not of great magnitude, a cement mixture must be applied and secured to have a successful result.
