Resumen
Industrial history has presented different changes framed in different ages, where each one presented significant impacts on the productive, economic and social systems for organizations worldwide. Currently, "Industry 4.0" is the new industrial model of the 21st century. In this new era, automation and digitization of industrial processes and significantly impact the economy and society. This work seeks to identify the main problems in the implementation process of Industry 4.0 in Latin American and developed countries. Eight case studies were chosen, four developed countries such as Germany, China, the United States, Japan and four Latin American countries, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Brazil. The methodology consisted of a literature review of academic articles in international databases, which allowed the selection of articles for the study of the cases. Next, an analysis was carried out in a comparative table, pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of the implementation. The results show the persistent implementation gaps between the two study groups, at the level of design and implementation of policies for the development of Industry 4.0, little budget, among others, but also allowed us to know that these gaps have been solved in other countries with alliances between the public and private sectors etc. All this analysis is important because it allows to guide and give ideas to the underdeveloped countries to get out of their existing gaps and to be able to exploit the benefits of this new era.
