Resumen
Colombia is a social state under the rule of law, and as it is known, the foundations of our state is human dignity. Apart from that definition, the Political Constitution from 1991, in its Article 16 establishes the unhindered development of human personality. Hence, respecting the sexual and reproductive rights are the rights that allow every person to execute them with liberty, confidence and security. Moreover, according to the American Convention on Human Rights from 1969, within the sexual and reproductive freedom it is viable to appeal to a known figure such as rental-mother o rental-womb. This has shown to be a good choice that has given good results and has helped many couples to accomplish their dream of having a family; institution that is thoroughly supported by the Political Constitution. Besides, it is worth mentioning that this is a controversial procedure and that it may carry a series of emotional or psychological problems for both the pregnant mothers and the couples. Thus, part of those controversies will be the object of analysis of the present investigation.
