At present, childhood morbid obesity in children under 10 years of age is a global problem, as reflected in the 2014 report of the World Health Organization (WHO), which indicated that in the world those under 5 years of age who are overweight or obese increased from 32 million in 1990 to 42 million in 2013 and according to the World Bank, in low- and middle-income countries, preschool overweight or obesity will exceed 30%, if this trend continues, by 2025 will increase to 70 million. (Muñoz, 2017). Families are responsible for children having childhood obesity, since they are the direct people who set the example and induce good healthy lifestyle habits, they are in charge of feeding their children. The government also has co-responsibility for the lack of adequate monitoring and adoption of public health policies of the different institutions. This article shows that social determinants in health are the possible cause for children under 10 years of age in the communes of strata 3 and 4 in the municipality of Armenia to become obese
