The objective of this work was to evaluate the relationship of the antral follicle count and body condition with the pregnancy percentage of Brahman breed bovine females subjected to an ovulation synchronization protocol for artificial insemination at a fixed time. This reproductive biotechnology tool, based on the processes of follicular dynamics and manipulation of the estrous cycle, presents great variations according to the exploitation system, productive state, protocol used, hormonal metabolism, follicular dynamics, individual conditions, race, age, and body condition. Unlike Bos taurus, in Brahman females, with a greater number of follicular waves in each estrous cycle, and a smaller diameter of the ovulatory follicle, the relationship between the ultrasound count of antral follicles-CFA with fertility is not clear. The study was carried out in the department of Meta, in 200 Brahman heifers between 32 and 42 months of age, subjected to the conventional IATF protocol, prior to an AI with commercial Brahman semen, 48 hours after removing the device. The CFA was evaluated in both ovaries, by ultrasound and related to the individual body condition-CC, measured with the Vetscore. The statistical analysis of the descriptive type, with SPSS® 18.1.1 software, allowed to show that the percentage of pregnancy in Brahman cattle can be affected (P <0.05) by variability of CFA and CC, but unlike other studies, heifers with low CC, they presented higher pregnancy percentages than those with optimal CC. As a conclusion, it is defined that the antral follicle count and the body condition influence the pregnancy percentage and are important sources of variation, with the lowest percentage being obese heifers with low CFA and the highest percentage being thin heifers with intermediate CFA.es
