Resumen
Anxiety and depression pathologies, associated with personal factors and the individual's environment, are closely related to some of the person's own life processes, such as learning. The present empirical review has as a general objective, to analyze the studies carried out in anxiety and depression pathologies and their incidence in student learning. After reviewing the empirical evidence, it was concluded that anxiety affects learning because it decreases the different processes such as: attention, concentration and retention of information, this causes deterioration in academic performance, in the same way depression also affects as a negative factor for the learning process because it generates little motivation to student since they interfere in intellectual activity presenting difficulties in memory processes, concentration and difficulties and / or absence in educational interaction, little participation, irresponsibility in homework since it prevents them from paying attention and assimilating what they were taught. These studied pathologies occurred in both school populations and university students, the vast majority prevailing in women.
