In recent years, higher education institutions in Colombia have become more aware of the need to strengthen the quality of education and have taken on the great challenge by incorporating new methodologies and educational resources that allow students to perform better work and professionally in the face of globalization by making decisions that promote change according to the conditions and demands of local intonation , national and international through ongoing research, innovation and improvement processes for the construction of new knowledge to train competent professionals committed to social development. In accordance with the above, this document responds to the interest and need of the Cooperative University of Colombia Campus Villavicencio, to know the Relevance of the Business Administration Program in the region. For the development of this study it was necessary to establish guidelines that facilitated the processes of collection and analysis of information. Initially, development plans and educational orientations were reviewed at the national and departmental and municipal levels, in addition to reviewing the Institutional Strategic Plan Sailing Together 2013-2022. On the other hand, information related at the institutional level to the number of students enrolled, admitted and enrolled from the Faculty of Economic, Administrative and Accounting Sciences of the Cooperative University of Colombia Campus Villavicencio was consulted in different databases; and at the regional level the student population data were consulted by taking the 11th degree in the Secretary of Education of Villavicencio through the Student Enrollment System of Basic and Middle Education (SIMAT). In addition, a survey was applied to 11th grade students from the main schools of Villavicencio and municipalities such as Restrepo, Cumaral and Acacías, as they are the most populous in the Meta region. The information and results contained in this document are of great importance to the Business Administration Program on the Villavicencio Campus because it will serve as a supporting document for the renewal of the official registration of the program, and thereby ensure quality content in line with the expectations of the next students and their usefulness in work and social contexts of the department and the region
