Oral cancer is a particular type of head and neck cancer that has impacts on the physical, social and emotional dimensions of people who suffer from it, sometimes dramatically, the affectation of the face and the basic functions necessary to socialize with other people trigger anxiety and depressive symptoms. The present study aimed to analyze the relationship between depression, anxiety and neuropsychological processes in a patient with oral cancer from the city of Medellín. It is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach based on the application of neuropsychological batteries. The population was made up of patients diagnosed with oral cancer in the department of Antioquia, the sample was a diagnostic patient with this type of cancer, so this research corresponds to a single case study. The analysis instruments used were: the Clinical Exploration Inventory (Caballo), the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and the Brief Psychological Assessment in Spanish NEUROPSI battery. The results obtained show some psychological processes (depression and anxiety) that scored in the category of severe and very severe respectively, in the findings of the neuropsychological tests, memory was affected in the coding and maintenance phases. It is concluded that the psychological processes of anxiety and depression have an impact on the quality of life of the patient with oral cancer, and memory impairment was found.
