The test most commonly used in cervical cancer screening is Cervical Cytology, its implementation has brought about a decrease in the morbidity and mortality of this disease. which shows the importance of the nursing professional knowing the regulations and making an adequate assessment of the cervix and taking samples of the different cervical epithelia, analyzing the cells of the cervix through an anatomopathological study. results on the possible existence of vaginal infections, It is not useful for the diagnosis of other gynecological cancers, such as ovarian cancer or uterine (endometrial) cancer. Sometimes findings that do not correspond to cervical cancer may appear and still require treatment or a follow-up period. The result of the cytology is normal when the cells analyzed correspond to those that constitute a healthy vagina and cervix.
