Globalization brings with it advances and challenges in the development of the different disciplines, to which health science has not been alien, given that health care processes carrycertain kinds of risks, which over time have become in real dangers of high concern for the authorities in charge of surveillance, control and quality, since it has generated a multiplicity of factors (use of technology, need for coordination of work teams, organizational policies, functional training for the management of equipment ), which come into play and intermingle with the general condition of the patient. (Abrahamson N.S., 1980). For the IPS Odontológica Salud Plena, it is important to have accurate information on the adverse events presented during the dental clinical intervention, since its main interest is to comply with the Patient Safety policies and / or improve the conditions of the users through improvement strategies; For this reason, the objective of this work is to identify the most frequent adverse events in the dentistry service of the IPS Salud Plena reported during the period January to June 2014 in the city of Neiva, Huila Materials and Methods: A Retrospective descriptive cross-sectional study compiling the adverse events reported in the Salud Plena dental IPS during the period January to June 2014. Results: The analysis of 11 adverse events presented in the first semester of 2014, the age of the patients is 21 years old in a range of 15 to 65 years, 54% (6) men and 45% (5) women, of the adverse events presented, 73% were related to healthcare processes, 27% to device failures 18% of the latent or irrigation failures were due to an error in the medical device, delay in care, problem related to medications, diagnostic error, therapeutic plan and others, 9% rel related to drug use
