Resumen
Objective: To determine the causes that influence the recidivism of people who have participated in treatment programs for the abandonment of psychoactive substances by reviewing the literature. Background: High rates of recidivism have been shown in people who have previously been in rehabilitation processes (CICAD, SSM, & OEA, 2019); The rates of recidivism of people who consume SPA are compared by the National Institute on Drug Addiction of the United States (NIDA) (UNODC, 2015) cited by Zambrano (2016) with people who have diseases such as diabetes (DB) and arterial hypertension (HTN), which are considered chronic diseases due to their behavioral and physiological factor, this emphasizes recidivism as part of a treatment (Zambrano, 2016); on the other hand, in the department of Santander, although no data is evidenced, if antecedents of this problem are reported. Methodology: Qualitative approach, descriptive design that is carried out by means of a bibliographic review. Keywords (Decs terms): Recurrence, relapse, drug addiction, drug dependence, psychoactive substances and psychoactive substance use disorder. Results: In this review 40 articles were included, of which 17 (42.5%) correspond to studies carried out in the United States, 5 (12.5%) to studies carried out in Colombia, 4 (10%) to studies carried out in Ecuador, 2 (5%) to studies carried out in Australia and Iran each respectively and 10 (25%) to studies carried out in 10 different countries, such as Spain, Venezuela, Japan, among others. 100% of the articles consulted were extracted from the databases of the Cooperative University of Colombia, such as Springer, Taylor and Francis, Scopus, BVS, and others. Conclusions: It was possible to determine the presence of different causes of recidivism in the consumption of SPA, focused from aspects such as personal, family and social. Among the most relevant is stress, poor adherence to treatment, little family support, among others.
