In recent years, the mental health problem has increased increasingly, and so has, how it has become a public issue worldwide, as it brings with it different affectations that vulgar individuals. In addition, the following literature will investigate in depth about suicidal ideation and its prevalence in older adults in Colombia. The findings found on the subject of suicidal ideation of older adults in Colombia for the present literature allows establishing that there is a greater prevalence of suicidal ideation in women than in men, especially if there are thoughts related to the desire to die and clinical indicators of depression, anxiety, which generates the need to develop strategies for the timely detection of indicators of suicidal ideation, as well as to design and implement prevention and intervention programs for people who are at risk of suffering these symptoms.
