Resumen
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a life support intervention accepted by the medical community, but it continues to generate investigations and inquiries about its benefits. The objective of this document is to establish the fundamental ethical issues that have arisen in cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures. To this end, a review of the literature was made, which allowed us to identify, from the relevant publications, various authors who have approached the subject from various perspectives. It is evident that performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures generates important neurological sequelae in survivors and that the survival rate, despite advances in resuscitation techniques, is still very low, but regardless of the effectiveness, doctors must act in favor from the patients.
