Resumen
The use of ultrasonography was born in the 1950s, but it was not until 1980 that it began to be used in veterinary medicine, there this great discovery generated its first fruits, but as the years passed, the equipment became more portable and with better resolutions, the transducers (micro convex, convex, linear) were improved to the point of having different utilities depending on their design; the diagnosis of pathologies by this method became much more accurate, since ultrasound is used as an evaluation technique in the andrological examination, it should be noted that it is a non-invasive technique, which means that the stress that the animal has is minimal and it does not affect its reproductive performance, thus making a much more rigorous examination, yielding more precise results, with this it is possible to determine the pathologies present in the animal, and to be able to rule out or, failing that, to treat the pathologies in a more correct way, in the team will see different shades of gray such as anechoic, hypoechoic, echogenic and hyperechoic; To handle the equipment and make correct decisions about the ultrasound, one must have skill and preparation, since there are also artifacts in the image, such as the comet's tail, among others; The professional in charge must know the anatomical structures that can be visualized in the examination and the windows (views) to address each of the internal or external organs present in the animal.
