Industry 4.0 encourages and creates continuous improvements for a country, specializes in editing all errors in processes, taking advantage of technological resources and digitization to maximize its benefits. Research in Industry 4.0 focuses on innovation, especially in the manufacturing industry. In relation to interconnectivity through (IoT) that comes from the English term internet of things, that is, “internet of things”, real-time data automation and automated training. This work aims to investigate the influence of Industry 4.0 in Latin American countries such as Colombia, Brazil, Mexico and Chile. Also, in developed countries such as Germany, China, the United States and Japan. A bibliographic review of three articles per country and a comparative analysis were carried out, where the state of the art of Industry 4.0 in each nation can be evidenced. The results reveal a great difference in terms of the level of implementation of Industry 4.0 in developed countries, however Germany, England, Japan and China have presented international collaborations, supporting territories such as Colombia, Mexico, Brazil and Chile that have not yet implemented the moderm technologies. In conclusion, Latin American countries present low implementation in terms of the adoption of smart technologies, negatively impacting the level of competitiveness and the global economy, compared to developed countries.
