Resumen
In school settings, low self-esteem prevents individuals from adapting effectively, affecting healthy coexistence. This research strengthened self-esteem and social skills in students of Grade 7 ° 1 of the San José Educational Institution, through an Educational Intervention Program based on cooperative learning with family integration, with the aim of contributing to the improvement of school coexistence. This Research was developed under the Qualitative Approach, using the Action Research Method considering two categories of analysis: self-esteem, which was measured using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and social skills estimated through a questionnaire. These categories were measured before and after the development of the Educational Intervention Program; in addition, qualitative monitoring was carried out through the field diary. After the application of the Program, there was a relevant increase in the self-esteem of the 7th Grade students, with 90% being in the High Category and 10% in the Medium Category. The Intervention Program demonstrated its effectiveness, since most of the students achieve a high level of self-esteem and social skills, demonstrating that they would not act violently or aggressively when living with others. Family intervention is considered essential in the formation of self-esteem and social skills of students.
